Demon Arts (Kidou)
The demon arts (Kidou) are a type of combat or healing sorcery used by Shinigami. They are like the Jutsus, or techniques thar are seen in Naruto. Demon art spells are divided into two major groups: blast spells (Hado), used for direct attack, and binding spells (Bakudo), which are spells that restrain or involves restraining someone. To perform a demon arts spell, one must call out the incantation for the spell, similar to releasing a Zanpakuto. It is also possible to bypass the incantation for spells, as with the Shikai release of the Zanpakto, however, each level gets successively harder to cast with success or full effectiveness. Even experienced captains cannot bypass a level 90 spell while maintaining its full power.

Destructive Art 90: Kurohitsugi - Black coffin A very powerful and difficult to use technique that surrounds the target in a huge black box of spiritual energy, which is then pierced by dozens of energy "spears", resulting in extensive damage on all parts of the target. Shunpo - Flash Steps This demon art called allows a Shinigami to move their body within a certain distance at super-speed. Yoruichi (the girl who can turn into a cat), is referred to as the "Goddess of Flash" because of her mastery of the skill. Shes so good at it that it seems that she can appear to be in multiple places at once. |

Kyoumon - Glass Barrier A glass-like barrier which is difficult to break from the outside, but quite simple to break from the inside. It was used by Hitsuguya to seal Hinamori's room when she was recovering to prevent intruders from attacking her. |

Soul Burial A ritual performed by the Shinigami's that sends souls to Soul Society. The Shinigami "stamps" a souls forehead using the opposite side of the point (which is the end of the handle) of a Soul Slayer and the soul is than sent to Soul Society. The image is from Bleach 1. |
